COMEDY
Ruth has performed comedy at UCB NY & LA, The Second City Chicago & Hollywood, and iO Chicago & West. She was a member of The Chorus, a Harold improv team at iO Chicago, who also performed at the Del Close Marathon.
She co-founded the sketch comedy collective The Animal Club who the The San Francisco Chronicle called "…one of the best sketch groups in the country." They performed for seven years at sketch festivals and theatres in San Francisco, NYC, Seattle, Chicago, Miami, Pittsburgh and at Caroline's on Broadway. They were honored to have a film of theirs represent The Second City at The Austin International Film Festival. |

She has been in a national Wendy's commercial, directed by Chris Smith, two commercials for Bloom Grocery, directed by Rick Lemoine, and co-hosted 50 webisodes on a four-month McDonalds roadtrip, directed by Timm Gable.
She has interviewed a range of fabulous folks like Nascar's Kasey Kahne, Olympic Gold Medalists Kerri Walsh & Misty May, Pitbull, Jerry Rice and James Cameron. She has also talked to hundreds of strangers on the street, for the camera and sometimes, just because. |
THEATRE
She loves the stage and has performed at the New York Fringe Festival and with Pittsburgh Musical Theatre. She’s been in Equity productions at Quantum Theatre, barebones productions, and the Playhouse Repertory Theatre. She earned her degree in Musical Theatre from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
She was listed as One of the Best Actresses of the Year by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. And her name is printed on the inside cover of The Electric Baby, published by Dramatists Play Service, for originating the role of Rozie. |

Ruth is obnoxious Effie Trinket in three seasons of The Katniss Chronicles and tiny Demi, a cartoon ballet slipper, on Miss Melodee's children's dance album.
She is a narrator in the book promo for The Kids User Guide to a Human Life on Amazon.com and in "His Breadbox Mouse," a short story on the podcast Allister Cromley's Fairweather Belle. She played Mary Todd Lincoln & Emily Dickinson in Historical Assumption. |

Ruth has written a commercial for Re-Bath and blogged for McDonalds. She was the uncredited story writer for two episodes of the Curious World app series Moonlight Storytime, written and created by Shane Portman.
She also wrote for and co-directed The Animal Club Sketch Comedy group. She has directed five short films and has produced sketch shows, plays, films, and a testimonial video starring actresses Susan Ruttan and Felicity Huffman. |

Ruth had a comedic role in the short film Making the Man which played at the Atlanta Film Fest, Short Shorts in Japan, NYC's Be Film Festival, Cinefiesta in Puerto Rico, Park City Film Music Festival & Raindance in London. She starred as Holly, an artist looking for honest connection, in the short film Holly Would and as Jade, a supportive best friend, in Women & Menu.
She was her enthusiastic self in the TV pilot Urban Farmer, a make-up artist on the web series Killer Todd, and a volatile ex on the web series Guy Friends. She's a member of SAG-AFTRA. |
FARMING
Ruth grew up in South Carolina and Arizona and joyfully cries if she smells the earth of either place. She apprenticed as an organic, edible garden-builder for a year in LA and was ecstatic to smell that much soil on a regular basis.
She volunteers with the Hollywood Orchard, a community of grounded, hilarious folks who climb their neighborhood fruit trees like monkeys and can gather about 2,000 pounds of free fruit in an afternoon to donate to food banks and prepare in their pop-up cul-de-sac kitchen. |
