midnight city table read

I'm tickled pink to play three characters in the staged reading of a new film, Midnight City, written by fellow Point Parker Brittany Klesic, and directed by old friend Chelsea Peters!  I'll be a playful newlywed, a cranky old waitress, and a bitchy cheerleader. Maybe some of them will die? It's a hilarious (and scary!) horror movie set in the 80's in a 50's diner. The cast is truly a treat to play with.

If you want to come see us play, it's free this Saturday, July 25th at Jumpcut Cafe in Studio City. Doors open at 6:30, come hungry, the cafe will be open, show starts at 8pm. Jumpcut Cafe: 13203 Ventura Blvd, Studio City, CA 91604

*Added note: It was super fun and here we are afterwards!

the intersect poem

My friend contacted me to record a poem for her. She was preaching that Sunday and wanted to present something written by a congregation member and dear friend. She asked me to read it dramatically and said the woman who wrote it had watched her 26 year-old son pass away from cancer. She wrote the poem about a passage in the Bible describing a crippled woman crawling on her hands to see Jesus, who desperately hoped his touch would heal the emotional and physical pain she'd felt, bring her peace of heart, and renew her lost faith in God. It's a raw reading, but I tried to honor this mother's experience and her honest expression of it through her beautiful poem...

I'm excited to be the voice of Demi, a sweet little cartoon ballet slipper, on Miss Melodee's new album! It releases Tuesday, July 14th. My fellow shoe characters and I (Scott Bridges & Wes Quave) have fun mini scenes between the songs and I even get to sing in one song! Any tiny dancers you know will love it. Miss Melodee has the heart of a princess, on the album and in real life, and they can tell :)

With the intention of making a gift for his mom, we filmed our nephew telling a story. We couldn't have planned that the story would be so great. Then we "animated" it, by drawing pictures and hand acting. His mom ended up loving it and we are truly proud of him! Please enjoy Woofy the Wild Dog...
